A decision in the case of World Athletics against Hassan Chani has been issued by the Disciplinary Tribunal.
On 13 March 2020 the AIU issued Mr Chani with a Notice of Charge for committing an Anti-Doping Rule Violation in connection with the use of a Prohibited Substance or a Prohibited Method on the basis of abnormal variations in the Athlete’s haematological profile.
The Disciplinary Tribunal consisting of Janie Soublière (Chair), Dennis Koolaard and Daniel Ratushny determined that an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) had been established pursuant to Article 2.2 of the 2019 IAAF Rules, and as a result a four-year period of Ineligibility is imposed. Mr Chani’s competition results between 3 August 2017 and 16 March 2020 are disqualified.
