British Gymnastics is looking for a Non-Executive Director to be the Board Welfare and Safety lead

British Gymnastics is looking for a Non-Executive Director to be the Board Welfare and Safety lead who can offer guidance, support, expertise, and an objective perspective on the key matters of welfare and safety, strategy, governance, financial affairs, and risk management.

British Gymnastics is seeking applicants who have a varied range of skills and experience, including the ability to challenge in a constructive way, to be forward thinking and passionate about making a difference. Applicants should also have appropriate understanding of welfare and safety issues relevant to British Gymnastics including legislative and regulatory requirements for safeguarding children and adults at risk and our duty of care to all members, volunteers, and employees. 

Non-Executive Directors should have wide-ranging experience and can see company and business issues from a broad perspective. Whilst not essential the ability to provide insight and specialist knowledge from an Athlete and/or from diverse communities and backgrounds would be desirable. What is also important is that you understand the value of diversity within the sport and particularly at board level and in the workplace.

The Welfare and Safety Lead Director should also have appropriate understanding of welfare and safety issues relevant to British Gymnastics, including legislative and regulatory requirement for safeguarding children and adults at risk and our duty of care to all members, volunteers and employees.
