A decision in the case of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and Jemimah Jelagat Sumgong has been issued by the Disciplinary Tribunal. The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) undertook an investigation and discovered evidence of a potential Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) other than an Adverse Analytical Finding, Atypical Finding, Adverse Passport Finding or a Whereabouts Failure by the Athlete, namely that she provided fraudulent medical information during first instance disciplinary proceedings under the IAAF Anti-Doping Rules (ADR). The AIU subsequently charged the Athlete with Tampering under Art. 2.5 of the ADR. The Tribunal found Ms Sumgong to have committed a second ADRV, that of Tampering. A period of Ineligibility of eight (8) years has been imposed on Ms Sumgong, which shall run from 17 January 2019.

The secretariat to the Disciplinary Tribunal is managed by Sport Resolutions.
