A decision in the matter of Rugby Football Union (RFU) v Christopher Mayor has been published by the National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP).

In September 2019, UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) received evidence from Law Enforcement, which revealed that Mr Mayor attempted to Use and traffic Human Growth Hormone (hGH) which is prohibited at all times under section S2 of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) 2018 Prohibited List and is a non-Specified Substance.

Mr Mayor was suspended by UKAD on 8 November 2019 and put on notice that he may have committed a number of Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs).

A hearing took place on 6 May 2022 to determine the charges. The National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) Tribunal, consisting of Michelle Duncan (Chair), Professor Kitrina Douglas and Dr Terry Crystal found that Mr Mayor committed the following ADRVs:

  • Attempted Use of a Prohibited Substance (WRR 21.2.2)
  • Attempted Trafficking of a Prohibited Substance (WRR 21.2.7)

A period of Ineligibility of four-years was imposed on Mr Mayor, which was deemed to have commenced on 8 November 2021.

The National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) is the United Kingdom’s independent tribunal responsible for adjudicating anti-doping disputes in sport. It is operated by Sport Resolutions and is entirely independent of UK Anti-Doping who is responsible for investigating, charging and prosecuting cases before the NADP.
