Sport Resolutions recruiting members to join World Athletics’ newly established Safeguarding Case Management Group to make decisions in relation to safeguarding concerns investigated by the AIU

We are delighted to confirm that Sport Resolutions has been appointed to act as independent secretariat to World Athletics’ Safeguarding Case Management Group (CMG). 

As independent secretariat to the CMG, Sport Resolutions will be directly responsible for recruiting and appointing the members of the CMG and will also decide which individual member(s) of the CMG will be involved in cases. 

The role of the CMG will be to review investigations by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) - the independent body protecting the integrity of athletics -, assess risk and make orders relating to safeguards, limitations, restrictions, sanctions and other matters in accordance with the World Athletics Safeguarding Rules which were approved by the World Athletics Council in August 2023. 

The CMG will be comprised of 6-10 individuals, with one Chair. Its members will be appointed for a term of three years and may serve for a maximum of three terms of three years.
