SportCheer England Seeks a Designated Safeguarding Lead

SportCheer England Seeks a Designated Safeguarding Lead

SportCheer England is recognised as the English Federation for the sport of cheerleading by the Olympic recognised International Governing Body, the ICU (International Cheer Union). As a new NGB, SportCheer England opened membership to clubs in June 2023 and is now in the process of application to Sport England for both sport and NGB recognition.

Safeguarding is an area of critical importance for an NGB to develop. As a brand new organisation, we are currently in a limited position to support clubs, however, we believe that we must do what we can, and to this end are seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead to work with us 3 hours a week in a paid position, to help provide guidance and signposting to clubs – a role that for the right candidate we hope to be one we can eventually grow in the future into a full-time position with input into the development of the organisation and sport.

The role we are currently seeking to fill comprises two services:

Service One – Lead on any concerns that come in to SportCheer England and to liaise with clubs, children’s services, LADOs and Directors at SCE as appropriate within a timely and professional manner.

Service Two – Advising and signposting Club’s where appropriate to the relevant resources and support available to them.

Applicants should send a CV and cover letter to sportcheerengland@gmail.com

DEADLINE: 30th April 2024

Successful shortlisted applicants will be subject to interview and the successful appointment will be subject to relevant checks.
