World Athletics v Michelle-Lee Ahye

World Athletics v Michelle-Lee Ahye

A decision in the case of World Athletics against Michelle-Lee Ahye has been issued by the Independent Disciplinary Tribunal.

Ms Ahye missed three tests during a twelve-month period which constitutes “Whereabouts Failures.” The notice of charge was issued on 30th August 2019 and Ms Ahye was provisionally suspended from such date, the charge was denied on 2nd September 2019.

The panel, consisting of William Norris QC, Conny Jörneklint and Francisco Larios determined that an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) was established pursuant to Article 2.4 of the IAAF Rules, and as a result, a two-year period of ineligibility is imposed, commencing 19th April 2019. The ADRV also leads to the disqualification of Ms Ahye’s results from 19th April 2019 to 30th August 2019.
