On 02 August 2018 Sean Goodfellow, a registered player of Scottish Rugby Union, was selected to provide an Out-of-Competition sample.  Mr Goodfellow was present at his home address when a UKAD Doping Control Officer attended to carry out the test, however Mr Goodfellow refused to give a sample.  He was subsequently charged with an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) for evading Sample collection, or without compelling justification refusing or failing to submit to Sample collection under World Rugby Regulation 21.2.3.

Mr Goodfellow admitted the ADRV was committed intentionally and agreed to accept a 4 year Period of Ineligibility.  Mr Goodfellow’s ban will run from 02 January 2019,  the date of Provisional Suspension, until midnight on 01 January 2023.
