Additional members sought for World Athletics’ Safeguarding Case Management Group

Sport Resolutions is recruiting additional members to join World Athletics’ Safeguarding Case Management Group (CMG) to make decisions in relation to safeguarding concerns investigated or brought by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).

The CMG’s role is to review investigations conducted by the AIU, assess risk, and determine appropriate safeguards, limitations, restrictions, sanctions, and other measures in accordance with the World Athletics Safeguarding Rules.

The CMG currently has seven members and aims to increase its membership to ten. Members will be appointed for a term of four years and may serve for a maximum of three consecutive terms (i.e. 12 years).

Applicants should have relevant experience or qualifications in safeguarding, offender management, or risk, including experience working in safeguarding roles in sport or other relevant sectors (such as social work).

Experience of advising on or sitting within safeguarding panels or tribunals, or conducting safeguarding investigations or risk assessments, would be an advantage.

A good understanding of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks (including equality, discrimination, and human rights), as well as experience working with vulnerable individuals and assessing complex evidence, is also expected.

We welcome applications from candidates globally. Given the current composition of the CMG and the importance of global representation, we are particularly interested in candidates with relevant experience from NACAC and Asia. Individuals with a background in social work are also especially encouraged to apply.

Further information, including the job description, CMG responsibilities, and terms, is available here (pour la version française, veuillez cliquer ici). As independent secretariat to the CMG, Sport Resolutions will be responsible for recruiting and appointing additional members. Sport Resolutions also determines which CMG member(s) will be assigned to individual cases.

How to apply:

Individuals with the required experience and skills who are interested in applying should send their CV and covering letter to panels@sportresolutions.com by 5pm GMT (6pm CET) on Friday 17 July 2026. Please include “World Athletics: Safeguarding Case Management Group” in the email subject line.
