A decision in the case of the International Association of Athletics Federations (the IAAF, now known as World Athletics) against Abderrahmane Kachir was issued by the Disciplinary Tribunal.

On May 25, 2019, Mr. Kachir underwent doping control while competing at the 10K event in Ottawa, Canada. The analysis established the presence of ibutamoren, a prohibited substance under class S2 (Peptide hormones, growth factors, related substances and mimetics) of the World Anti-Doping Agency's Prohibited List.

Janie Soublière, the Panel Chair acting as sole arbitrator, determined that an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) was established, and as a result, a four-year period of ineligibility is applicable. Mr Kachir will be credited for his period of provisional suspension. The ADRV also leads to the disqualification of Mr Kachir’s results on May 25, 2019 and thereafter.

Sport Resolutions acts as secretariat to the IAAF Disciplinary Tribunal.
