Audley Sheppard QC has been appointed as the new Chair of the Sport Resolutions’ Board, taking over from Edwin Glasgow CBE, QC.

Audley has specialised in dispute resolution, through negotiation, mediation, litigation and arbitration, for over thirty years.

He is a Partner of the international law firm of Clifford Chance LLP, based in London.

His other board roles include Chair of the London Court of International Arbitration company.

Audley is also active in teaching and education, through roles at the School of International Arbitration, Queen Mary University of London, and elsewhere, and regularly writes and talks on dispute resolution topics.

Audley will be carrying on the work of our retiring Chair, Edwin Glasgow CBE, QC, who has overseen significant growth in case volume, and the income and profile of Sport Resolutions (SR) since 2016.

Audley said: “I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to work with the Board, the Chief Executive and the team at Sport Resolutions in helping to provide independent, efficient and accessible dispute resolution services to everyone involved in sport, and to build on Edwin's legacy. I am committed to improving integrity and trust in all aspects of sport at all levels."

John Palmer, Senior Independent SR Director and chair of the selection panel, said: “Audley’s great wealth of experience in international dispute resolution, and in leadership of diverse boards, will be an outstanding and valuable asset as we continue to grow our work and influence in this crucial area of sport.

Edwin led us with inspiration and imagination through an unprecedented period of expansion as integrity and transparency in the world of sport moved centre-stage. We will be forever grateful for his contribution and commitment. Now are looking forward to working with Audley as we widen our work and sphere of influence.”

Audley will commence in the role with effect from 1st July 2021.
